Eliot Spitzer and wife Silda Wall Spitzer, who have been married for twenty-six years, have brought their marriage to what some are calling an “amicable end.”
A statement was issued yesterday by the couple, “We regret that our marital relationship has come to an end and we have agreed not to make any other public statement on this subject. All issues between us have been resolved and are uncontested.” Details of the Eliot Spitzer and wife Silda Wall Spitzer divorce are private and will not be revealed, but it was likely costly.

The scandal prompted him to resign as Governor on March 17.He has also served as the State Attorney General for New York and has had several stints as a political commentator, most recently on CNN from 2010 to 2011.
Eliot Spitzer met his Silda Wall Spitzer at Harvard Law School in 1987, and they have three daughters together. The couple reportedly have been “leading separate lives” for some time and generally did not appear together even before the separation and divorce were announced.
