Michael Moore Files for Divorce from Wife of 21 YearsDocumentary filmmaker Michael Moore has filed for divorce from his wife of twenty-one years, Kathleen Glynn. The pair has been married since 1991 but has been together for many more years. The divorce complaint was filed on June 17th of this year in a Michigan Circuit Court near the couple's home in Torch Lake, Michigan. According to the court complaint, Moore stated they live in separate homes and there is "no reasonable likelihood that the marriage can be preserved." A divorce hearing is scheduled for September 10, 2013. Glynn has not filed an answer yet, but Michael Moore has already hired a powerful Michigan lawyer.
Michael Moore and Glynn have worked together for over twenty years, and Glynn has been the producer of several of his films. The couple also hosts the Traverse City Film Festival, which begins this year on July 30th. They were born in Flint, Michigan, where they currently live, and they do not have any children together. Glynn has one daughter, Natalie, from a previous relationship.

He honed his writing skills by working at the school newspaper the "The Michigan Times." Michael Moore later left college and became the editor of "Mother Jones" for a short period of time.
Later he began his filmmaking career and made his first film Roger and Me in 1989. A string of documentary films followed highlighting what he believed to be some of the biggest problems with America- the greedy businessman, corporations and corrupt politicians. Later Michael Moore scored big with his Bowling for Columbine which attempted to highlight some of the issues with American's right to bear arms.
What his proponents consider his biggest asset- his unapologetic attacks on social wrongs- his critics would call his greatest liability. He remains a polarizing figure in the American movie industry with many considering him un-American while others consider him a First Amendment hero.
