Khloe Kardashian to divorce Lamar OdomAnother Kardashian is reportedly calling it quits. According to New York Daily News, Khloe Kardashian is reportedly filing for divorce from her husband of four years, Lamar Odom. The official documents will be filed today to legally start the process to end their marriage. The reason: irreconcilable differences. The announcement, which was made today, is no surprise given the couples tumultuous relationship.
Beginning in 2013, the couple had a series of well-publicized legal troubles, including rumors of marital discontentment and revelations about Lamar Odom's substance abuse issues. The couple had been struggling for over a year to salvage their marriage, despite reports that Khloe Kardashian had not been wearing her wedding ring since November.
Lamar Odom's behavior has become increasingly bizarre. Not only has he publicly bragged about being unfaithful to his wife, he was arrested in California by the California Highway Patrol for drunken driving after the California Highway Patrol spotted Odom's white Mercedes SUV on the 101 Freeway at 3:25 a.m. "driving in a serpentine manner at 50 mph."
Lamar Odom later pleaded no contest to his drinking under the influence (DUI) charge in court yesterday. Per the agreement, he will be required to attend alcohol counseling for three months, serve 36 months of probation and pay fines and drunk driving fees totaling $1,814.
Khloe Kardashian fights to help her husband rehabilitate
Reports indicate Khloe Kardashian was attempting to help her husband rehabilitate and fight his alleged "drug addiction" but the continued drug use and the reports that he may be using crack cocaine seem to be more than the reality start could handle.
The youngest of the Kardashian sisters, Khloe Kardashian has not commented publicly about her marital struggles, although some information and pictures have continued to surface on Instagram and Twitter pages.
What does Lamar Odom say about the impending divorce to Khloe Kardashian?
Lamar Odom has also been silent about the divorce rumors and is trying to focus on resurrecting his basketball career. He has taken to Twitter, however, to defend the Kardashian family against statements made by his own father when his father, Joe Odom, tried to blame the Kardashians for his son's issues in September.
"He (is) disrespecting the ONLY FAMILY that has loved me without expecting anything in return. They are the ONLY ones that have been here consistently 4 me during this dark time. Only person 2 blame is myself."
Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom also have attempted to battle their demons together through couple's therapy but that didn't wasn't enough to battle through drugs, money and infidelity.
If Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom do finalize their divorce we can expect that it could be easy and quick. The couple do not have any children together and they have a prenuptial agreement, which could potentially eliminate months of battling it out to separate assets and develop child support plans.
