Officials in the Indonesian province of Garut have implemented a policy that requires couples seeking a divorce to plant 50 trees.

The program is an effort to battleĀ deforestationĀ in the island nation, which ranks third behind the China and the United States in greenhouse gas emissions.

Couples wishing to get married aren’t immune from rules either, but they only have to plant 10 trees.
