Sean Penn and Robin Wright Penn Headed To Divorce Court
After forgetting to thank his wife on stage when he accepted his second Academy Award for Best Actor, Sean Penn filed for legal separation from Robin Wright Penn. She had originally filed for divorce in December 2007 citing irreconcilable differences, but the couple later reconsiled.
Penn joins three actresses, Reese Witherspoon, Halle Berry and Hilary Swank, who took home an Oscar, but did not not publicly thank their spouse at the Academy Awards Ceremony, and later filed for divorce.
The Penn’s have a daughter, 18-year-old Dylan, and a son, Hopper Jack, 15.
